Perplexity technology is coming to Bardo 1.0

With Bardo Plus, you will be able to search notes and events using semantic search powered by Perplexity’s pplx-embed model. This makes it possible to find content by meaning, context, and intent—rather than relying only on exact words or phrases.

Since August 2025, we have been closely following Perplexity and its progress. Their work has had a meaningful influence on the development of Bardo, and we are pleased to bring part of that technology into Bardo 1.0.

Within Bardo, pplx-embed runs locally on Android devices without an internet connection. All semantic searches are processed fully on-device, which helps protect privacy while also making the feature available at no additional cost to Bardo Plus subscribers.

To keep the experience simple and accessible, we have added direct Perplexity integration to the main menu in Bardo. Tap the Perplexity logo in the search bar, enter what you want to find, and Bardo will use semantic search to surface the most relevant notes and events.

This feature will become available to all Bardo Plus subscribers starting April 19, 2026.
