One Year of Bardo

Exactly one year has passed since Bardo was first conceived.

Development officially began on April 19, 2025. In the earliest stage of the project, we studied more than 100 note-taking apps and analyzed thousands of data points to better understand user expectations, needed features, and gaps in the market.

Today, on April 19, 2026, Bardo stands as the result of one year of rapid growth. What started as a simple note-taking app with a plus button and a few menus has evolved into a much larger, more capable, and more ambitious product.

From the beginning, our goal was to combine the strongest ideas from both popular and modern note-taking apps into one experience. Bardo was built to bring those ideas together in a single app.

Bardo 1.0.0 Beta, the first public release, launched on September 19, 2025. Within 12 days, it had already passed 1,000 installs. Just one month after launch, that number had grown to 3,400 installs worldwide.

As of today, Bardo has reached 27,000 installs across countries including the United States, India, and the Philippines, alongside many others around the world.

A recent internal count also showed that Bardo 1.0 now includes more than 3,000 improvements, updates, and refinements.

One year later, Bardo has grown from an early concept into a mature and widely used product. The progress made during its first year has established a strong foundation for the next stage of development.
