Unauthorized Bardo APK Distribution: TypexAI Is Taking Action

Thanks to the TypexAI team, we have uncovered a large network actively distributing unauthorized and modified versions of Bardo for Android.
These unauthorized APK files have been deliberately modified by third parties to bypass paid Bardo Plus restrictions. They are being distributed through numerous websites, forums, file-hosting services, and Telegram channels without our knowledge or permission.
The scale of this unauthorized distribution is significantly greater than we previously understood.
This activity cannot be considered preservation, community support, or harmless redistribution. It involves the unauthorized modification and distribution of copyrighted software, specifically altered to provide access to paid functionality without permission.
TypexAI is preparing and initiating legal, technical, and regulatory action concerning the platforms and infrastructure involved. Our objective is to remove the modified files, disable their download links, restrict their visibility, and address repeat distribution.
TypexAI intends to submit reports and formal notices through the appropriate channels, including:
- CERT-EE at the Estonian Information System Authority, Estonia’s national cyber incident response team
- Telegram’s European Digital Services Act reporting mechanism
- Hosting providers and online platforms through Article 16 DSA notices
- Google and Microsoft copyright enforcement channels
- Estonia’s Digital Services Coordinator, TTJA, where further escalation is required
- Relevant file-hosting services, domain registrars, and infrastructure providers
Evidence is being preserved, including publication records, download links, account information, comments, modified APK files, digital signatures, and file hashes. This material may be submitted to the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board and other competent authorities where necessary.
In the past, TypexAI generally relied on direct legal warnings, and those warnings were usually respected. Given the scale and coordinated nature of the current distribution, warnings alone are no longer an adequate response.
Although Bardo for Android is currently described as being on hold, communication with Google has not ended. Discussions continue, even if progress remains slow.
Bardo for Android is not officially available for download anywhere at this time. Any website, forum, Telegram channel, or individual currently offering a downloadable Bardo APK is not an authorized source, and the file should be treated as unauthorized.
TypexAI has never approved these modified builds and cannot guarantee their integrity, privacy, or safety. Users who install them do so outside the official Bardo ecosystem and may expose their data and devices to unknown modifications.
