General Provisions

The Bardo app respects your privacy and is legally and ethically committed to protecting your information. We operate on a principle of data minimization—if we don't need it, we don't collect it. Below is a detailed description of what data we process, how it is ostensibly used, and the rigorous security measures we employ to ensure its safety.

Data Collection and Processing

We fundamentally do not collect personal information. We do not require, store, or process your name, email address, phone number, or physical location. Your identity remains yours alone.

Gemini API and OpenAI API Integration

When you choose to utilize AI features within Bardo, such as summarizing notes or generating content, we act as a secure conduit, not a data repository. We do not collect your data during this process; requests are encrypted and sent directly from your application to the respective OpenAI or Gemini servers.

Important: We do not have a server infrastructure for collecting user data. We physically cannot see your notes.

The following specific data points may be transmitted only when explicitly initiated by you:

• Note text for the purpose of generating quick summaries.
• Note content required for context-aware image creation.

Lumen and Lumen+ Agent

Lumen: If you engage with Lumen, it analyzes the content you provide to assist with editing, rewriting, or formatting according to your specific instructions. You retain full control, with the ability to undo or redo any changes instantly.

Lumen+ Agent: This advanced agent offers deeper integration for a more personalized experience.

Memory: Lumen+ can strictly save information you ask it to remember to provide better context in future interactions. You have absolute control over this memory. You can wipe it completely at any time by navigating to Settings > Use AI and selecting the memory deletion option.

Capabilities: Lumen+ Agent is authorized to perform local actions such as reading your note count, deleting notes or to-do lists upon request, reading note content for context, creating new notes, and changing the application theme.

Restrictions: For your security, Lumen+ Agent does not have access to the Trash, your Personal Space (encrypted vault), or critical system settings beyond cosmetic theme changes.

Storage and Safety

Security is our top priority. All notes, to-do lists, and configuration settings are stored locally on your device. We do not maintain a cloud database of your personal content.

For data portability and backup, users can export their notes at any time. We support advanced encryption standards for these exports, including Quant encryption and Split encryption, as well as standard unencrypted formats for ease of use.

Third-Party Services

We value your privacy over profit. We do not use third-party analytics trackers (like Google Analytics or Firebase) or external authorization services (like "Log in with Facebook"). Your usage habits are your own business.

Your Rights

You maintain full ownership of your data. You have the right to delete the Bardo application at any time. Upon uninstallation, all local data, notes, and settings will be permanently erased from your device, leaving no trace on our servers (as we have none).
